Pat Wictor house concert in NYC (2/23)!  A special, intimate evening!

Dear friends and listeners--

I'm playing a special concert in Manhattan in a couple weeks, and I want to invite you to attend.  It's a house concert, part of a series called "Music Over Manhattan" run by my friend Tom Boyd.  I'll have the rare opportunity to stretch out and play a couple sets, and I'll be doing several new songs off my forthcoming CD, "Sunset Waltz"  (which I'm very excited about!).

Here's the information:

Saturday, February 23, 8pm

Music over Manhattan

New York, NY  10011

Suggested donation $20

For address, reservations, and directions,

Email Tom at

tomora0303@earthlink.netgt

As house concerts are considered private gatherings, this email is your invitation!  When you contact Tom, let him know I emailed you, and he'll reserve a seat for you, and tell you how to get there.

House concerts are the most engaging, impactful way to hear live music.  If you've never been to one (and there are VERY few in NYC), come to this one--you will be hooked!   Around the country, house concerts are becoming a popular way to hear live music in the best possible setting--someone's living room!  You can sidestep some of the irritants of many NYC music venues (drink minimums, chatty and/or drunk patrons, disgusting bathrooms, etc....), and have a great time, in a setting that is focused entirely on the music.

Here's an article on house concerts, from the New York Times a while ago:

And some FAQ's posted by some house concert presenters in California, which shed light on all house concerts:

My next appearance in NYC will likely be in July, and I don't expect to play a house concert in NYC again anytime soon, so I would love to see you there.

Other news:

I've finished recording everything for "Sunset Waltz," and will be mixing later this week.  Listen to some of the rough (ie, unfinished) mixes here:

The support of dozens of folks, contributing to the project's budget, has made all the difference!  It's going to be a CD that I'm immensely proud of, thanks to the outpouring of support and participation.

Thanks for listening, and talk to you soon!

:-)   Pat
