Pat Wictor in Brooklyn, NY December 12 w/ Cheryl Prashker!
Dear folks--
Next Friday I'm playing at the lovely Good Coffeehouse in Park Slope, Brooklyn, with my good friend, percussionist extrarodinaire Cheryl Prashker. We'll jam, banter, and bring out new arrangements. Pure fun!

@Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture
53 Prospect Park West (@ 2nd St.)
Brooklyn, NY 11215

$10 adults / $6 children
DIRECTIONS VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:
SUBWAY:
•-Q train to 7th Av station in Brooklyn; F train to 7th Av; 2 or 3 train to Grand Army Plaza
BUS:
•-B75 to 9th St and Prospect Park West; B69 to 2nd St; B67 2nd St; B41 to Grand Army Plaza
At 7pm, for those who'd like to come early, Cheryl and I will be hosting a short gathering, part meet-and-greet, part musical workshop and question-and-answer session. We'll share some of the thinking behind our musical interplay, among other things. The show begins at 8pm.
Cheryl Prashker (www.cherylprashker.com) is my closest musical collaborator for the past four years. We've toured together, and she's played and provided priceless guidance on my past three CDs. She's become the go-to drummer/percussionist on the acoustic/folk circuit, doing shows with Jonathan Edwards, The Strangelings, Tracy Grammer, Full Frontal Folk, Charlie Zahm, and her own band, CC Railroad, all while compiling dozens of studio credits. She's a great improviser and listener, and is good for a few wisecracks onstage as well.
Other news:
•-My song "Simple Christmas" leads off the new Hudson Harding Christmas sampler, along side new Christmas songs by Jud Caswell, Tom Kimmel, Amy Speace, and others. I'll have copies of the new sampler at the show.
•-I am "Mr. January" in the 2009 Naked Folk Calendar. Yes, you didn't misread that. The Calendar is an institution in folk music, a (tasteful and often humorous) collaboration between the Folk Alliance and photographer Jayne Toohey, to benefit musicians without health insurance. I'll have copies at the show. Sneak preview:

May I Recommend:
Dobroist Abbie Gardner, of Red Molly fame, is hosting a new series at Googie's Lounge in Manhattan called "The Slide Sessions." On Saturday December 20, she's hosting a father-son duo called Beaucoup Blue. Their blues and soul-based tunes always leave you feeling great. I LOVE these guys--go see 'em! For more information, see

Have a great December, folks. If you're doing anything weird, let me know--I'm gathering a list of weird activities for our weird times. :-)
Warm regards,
Pat Wictor
